Windcrest Animal Hospital Sick and Emergency Care

Windcrest Animal Hospital is fully staffed and equipped to care for your sick dog, cat, exotic or avian pet 24 hours a day. There is a veterinarian on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

If you are seen by our staff veterinarians during the day or evening, and your pet is found to be ill enough to require hospitalization, your pets care will be turned over to the full time ICU veterinarian and ICU technicians. The doctor oversees IV fluid administration, diagnostic testing, medications, and treatments, and then thoroughly discusses and transfers the case to the overnight emergency doctor who along with the overnight technician will continue this care through the night. There is a doctor and technicians closely monitoring your pet all day and night.

No appointment is necessary for urgent/emergency care day or night, but please call ahead if possible. If your pet requires urgent care day or night, the ICU or emergency veterinarian is available to see them immediately. Upon presentation, the technician will triage your pet, and then the doctor will perform a thorough physical exam. The findings and treatment plan will be discussed in detail with you (unless life saving measures are needed immediately). The agreed upon diagnostics will be performed, and if necessary, your pet will be admitted to the hospital for treatments, intensive care, and further diagnostics. If not a Windcrest client, our veterinarian will contact your doctor the day of admittance and keep them up to date on your pet's condition. You will return to your veterinarian for follow up care.
